Odour dispersion study

Odour has no emission limit values in Spanish national law, but it is the most common cause of conflict with neighbours and can end up threatening the continuity of an operation. It can be measured, modelled and corrected.

What's included

• Determination of odour concentration at source by dynamic olfactometry (EN 13725).
• Inventory of ducted and diffuse sources, including area sources.
• Dispersion modelling and calculation of odour exposure at receptors.
• Assessment of impact against the applicable reference criteria.
• Minimisation measures: containment, treatment and operating conditions.
• Report for permitting or in response to neighbour complaints.

When you need it

• You operate a waste plant, a wastewater treatment works, a farm or a food industry facility.
• There are repeated neighbour complaints or an official request.
• A new project has to demonstrate that odour will not affect the surrounding area.

How we work

We combine laboratory olfactometry with modelling and, where needed, a field panel. EN 13725 and the applicable regional odour assessment criteria.
