Hydrogeology and groundwater: abstraction and protection zones

Groundwater is a resource granted and contested on the strength of data. We characterise the aquifer, justify the abstraction and defend the application before the basin authority with our own testing and modelling.

• Pumping tests and interpretation of the hydraulic parameters.
• Flow modelling and, where relevant, contaminant transport modelling.
• Delineation of source protection zones.
• Piezometric monitoring network and programme for tracking levels and quality.

When you need it

• You are applying for a groundwater abstraction licence or a modification.
• You need an alternative resource in the face of supply restrictions.
• An abstraction point has lost yield or quality and the cause has to be found.
• You are being required to define a protection zone or piezometric monitoring.

How we work

We run the tests and the interpretation ourselves, which makes it possible to defend the application when the basin authority questions availability. If the resource is not there, you will know before drilling.
