Detailed layout study

The detailed layout study is a minor but effective instrument where only building volumes or alignments need adjusting, with no substantive parameter changed. In Catalonia it was abolished by the planning act; it remains in force in other Spanish regions.

What's included

• Verification that the instrument applies in the relevant region.
• Adjustment of alignments, levels and building volume arrangement.
• Justification that development rights and permitted uses are unchanged.
• Comparative drawings of the current and proposed arrangement.
• Processing before the council.

When you need it

• Building volumes or alignments need adjusting within an area already laid out.
• You are working outside Catalonia, where the instrument remains in force.
• The plan expressly requires a detailed layout study for the area.
